Homemade Limoncello Step 1 – Courageous Cooking

Homemade Limoncello Step 1

Learn how to make homemade Limoncello in this Courageous Cooking post with our voluptuous and lovely cook, Courtenay Stickels – aka Courty. In this demonstration she walks us through the first step of how to make homemade Limoncello, rocking the limited edition Satin Legskin Tights, while sharing stories about her travels through Italy.

Note: Courtenay uses ethanol she got from her neighbour but you can use vodka or any 80 proof alcohol.

You will need:

  • 7 litres of pure ethanol or 80-100% proof vodka
  • 10-12 organic lemons
  • Courage My Love Legskin Tights (optional)

Directions:

With a good lemon rind zester, scrape the lemon rinds off the lemons and put into the alcohol to soak for 3-4 weeks. The ethanol will take on the colour and flavor of the peel. Tune into our next video to learn how to make the sugar syrup for step two of how to make homemade Limoncello!

Courageous Cooking

We hope you enjoy our Cooking with Courage video series. In this video, you’ll meet Courtenay Stickels, who is a stunningly beautiful woman of many talents. Courty loves cooking to nourish her friends and family. She seems to fuse her loving nature and healing powers into her food, whether it’s raw chocolate to heal a broken heart or kale chips to satisfy your inner snacker.

Not limited to the kitchen, Courtenay’s voice is unmistakeable… honest, husky and very easy on the ear. She is a respected veteran of voiceovers for commercial tv & radio, having worked in the Australian industry over a 14-year period. The warm and conversational nature of her voice also puts her in high demand for corporate videos and documentaries.

Shruti box

Courtenay Stickels | Courage My LoveHowever, Courtenay found inspiration during a trip to India where she met a German couple who practiced sound therapy. They gave her their Shruti box (a harmonium-like instrument) to play. She sang so powerfully that they gifted the Shruti box to her and sent her on her way. From that moment of ‘divine awakening’ Courtenay has felt it her mission to teach others the power of sound and voice.

I’ve been a singer and songwriter since my early teens, but it wasn’t until I had an awakening in my late 20s that I realized the presence of the Divine in my voice and understood what a great service I could contribute to humanity by being an instrument of love through my song and be an agent of change in a world that yearns to heal and connect.

“I feel very privileged to have had sound healing sessions with Courtenay. I remember that first time when I went onto the space she prepared I was very curious and open minded about what a sound healing might be like. She asked me to close my eyes after introducing me to the session and from there it was like taking a bath in sound. Many instruments mixed with natural sounds, like trickling water, and Courtenay’s voice penetrated my cells with vibration. I could feel the hairs in my skin standing on end. I got up at the end of the session feeling completely reenergized and inspired – so booked my next session! There’s something very real about this woman, something I respect and admire. I am thrilled to share Courtenay’s work through Courage My Love.”
