Over the last few years our founder, Persephone Singfield, has been working within the yoga community nationally. Through her work with Courage My Love she has developed a wide yoga network across New Zealand. She's enjoyed meeting teachers, practitioners, studio owners, authors, business people, charities - you name it! Yoga has a very broad professional sphere here on our shores.
Persephone has been a presenter for ExerciseNZ at FitEx a few times over the years. FitEX is the name of the conference for the fitness and exercise industry in New Zealand. This event features the latest in science and business for every facet and role within the fitness industry – from facility owners, through to exercise professionals (including yoga teachers).
After the conference in November last year, Persephone began to dream about a dedicated educational conference for our yoga community. Having attended festivals which include yoga she learned that a festival and conference were clearly different experiences. Persephone approached ExerciseNZ in January with a proposal for a national yoga conference. CEO, Richard Beddie, was immediately behind the idea. ExerciseNZ, alongside our yoga teachers, are creating New Zealand's first yoga conference for November this year.
ExerciseNZ is committed to continue developing opportunities for yoga within New Zealand. We have a wealth of yoga knowledge and teachers in our country, many of them are unsung heroes, working passionately below the radar! If you are serious about your yoga practice, you will not want to miss this event.
